Religious Studies S1/S2
What will you study?
Your courses are centred on you and your personal search for meaning and values. We will study peoples' beliefs, the major world religions and discuss philosophical questions such as why is there pain and suffering in the world.
What will the classes be like?
The classes are friendly and you take personal responsibility for your progress. You will be accountable to yourself, your group and your class.
In First Year, each week there will be 1 RS lesson. In Second Year there will be 2 lessons each week. All RS classes are based on 'Form Class' groupings.
What is expected of you?
- show commitment to completing, to the best of your ability, all tasks and to making progress in your personal search for knowledge and understanding of beliefs and values in life.
- Participation in all aspects of the work.
- Respect for yourself, your work and your class.
What skills will you develop?
From your course you should be able to gain knowledge and understanding of yourself, and other peoples' beliefs. You will be encouraged to make up your own mind up after considering various ideas and become able to respond to important matters.
