Assessment

There are two parts to the course assessment – knowledge and understanding accounts for 40% of the overall mark and enquiry skills accounts for 60%. As well as the end of course assessment and the third year exam, your work will be regularly assessed through end of topic tests. These tests are designed to provide practice in how to deal with Standard Grade assessments, and they help to monitor your progress throughout the course.

What is expected from students:

You must be prepared to do a reasonable amount of reading and writing. You will develop your knowledge and understanding and learn how to use a variety of historical sources including documents, diagrams, cartoons and videos. You can expect regular homework and regular assessments throughout the two year course. To prepare for this you will be expected to read through your jotter notes regularly
