What you can expect in the course?
This course is intended to equip you with a working knowledge of computers so that you will know how to use them, what they can be used for and how they work.
It is not just for those who wish to follow a career in Computing.
During the course you will learn a new programming language called Visual Basic. You will study in greater depth some of the applications of computers, such as word processing, databases, spreadsheets, desktop publishing, multimedia, web page creation, graphics and Internet. In addition, you will learn more about how the computer works and be introduced to new topics such as expert systems and robotics.
This course will be assessed at Foundation, General and Credit levels. Some of the course work will form part of your assessment.
What is expected from you?
You will be expected to plan work carefully before carrying out the work on the computer, as well as completing written work in class and at home.
