Colleges
Senior students, who intend going on to further or higher education, are encouraged from S4 onwards to undertake serious research into which courses they might study, which institutions they might attend and what future job prospects they may have.
This might include applying to college – the local college is Borders College – based in Galashiels but with campus all over the Scottish Borders. The Borders College visits BHS around April to take students through the application process.
Students will begin the process of applying to college around January.
Borders College favours online application forms – they can be downloaded from the website below. All students and parents should consult with Personal Guidance Teachers about any application made to the college.
